I forgot one thing about the tunze, it has three fail safes:
1 - water level sensor
2 - float switch
3 - it wont top off for more than 8 minutes or it will auto-shutoff the whole topoff system.

I have no idea how it would get an extra 10-15 gallons in there... the system would shut off after 8 minutes...

I second this for Brett, mine would never go through a gallon in 8 minutes. I have come to it many times & the alarm light is on. Dumb me left the supply line off of the container. 10-15 Gallons is very off!

Any automated system can fail, esp. since you quickly become to trust them & stop checking them for maintenance (salt creep, etc.). Redundancy is the best protection. My new system will have an emerg overflow at the top of my sump which will gravity drain to the outside, just in case!

Heck, let it run over couple more times. :shock: Just imagine how much more room You will have for tanks, etc. when the wife is gone. :-D :-D
