Default 2.5 gallon mini bow, hints

i have had this 2.5 gallon mini bowfront tank for a year, kept as a freswater with a female betta, she is moving to a friends tank and the tank has opened to saltwater

this is what i am thinking

get a screw in coralife 10 or 20 watt light bulb 50/50
i have a whisper hob filter rated for up to 10-15 gallon tanks.
and get some sand, and some sand from my 15 gallon
add about 3-5 lbs. of live rock and some zoos
    and get a heater(25 watt)

any thing anyone thinks should change or take something away go ahead and say it.

I had the same Nano, the 2.5 gallon mini bowl....loose the filter. Use the power head off the filter on the slowest setting and the suction cup to attach it to the back wall for circulation. The coralife 10Watt 50/50 bulb worked great in mine. I had blastamusa, star polyps, button polyps, zooa, mushrooms, fan leather, and branching motoapora in mine and they all did GREAT under that light. (all small peices but looked real pretty). Then I would do a about a cup to a cup and 1/2 water change a week. I really didn't need the heater at the house (stays 73 degrees) and the light would keep the water around 81 - 82. When I took it to work (they keep it freezing up here) it killed my cleaner shrimp because the water got too cold. I wouldn't put any fish (even small ones) because of the bio load, but corals, small crabs, snails, and my cleaner shrimp all did great in there.

I have some perfect LR that I used in mine that looked great in it if you would like to trade or buy it. I broke mine down after the shrimp died and put everything else in my main tank. I think it is about 10lbs total of live rock.

    Let me know!

The socket is there to use two bulbs. You just have to move it into position for use.
Look at all those live rocks on the beach at Florida's state park!

Oh, mine came with the little wisper flow filter that hung inside by a suction cup then the powerhead hooked to the bottom to push water up through it and out the top. I didn't use the filter but the power head worked great for circulation.

Of course this is just what I did. With just corals, a shrimp, and a emerald crab I didn't really find the need for carbon doing the weekly water changes.....but to each their own!

Enjoy it, I really did mine.

ok here is a updte on the little project

today i will go out and buy a 10 watt or 20 watt screw in 50/50
also some sand, live or aragonite, and add the remaining of it to my 15, probaly put 10 lbs. of sand in there.

heater, we have central heat and air (as most people do in texas) but i watn a heater jsut becaseu our house stays at 76-78 degrees and the water tends to be colder then teh air temp, so my question is should i buy a regualar heater or one that sticks to the bottom of the tank like a reptile terrium.

will use a couple pieces of rock from my 15 and start to cycle with a shrimp (from h.e.b raw)
