I had the same Nano, the 2.5 gallon mini bowl....loose the filter. Use the power head off the filter on the slowest setting and the suction cup to attach it to the back wall for circulation. The coralife 10Watt 50/50 bulb worked great in mine. I had blastamusa, star polyps, button polyps, zooa, mushrooms, fan leather, and branching motoapora in mine and they all did GREAT under that light. (all small peices but looked real pretty). Then I would do a about a cup to a cup and 1/2 water change a week. I really didn't need the heater at the house (stays 73 degrees) and the light would keep the water around 81 - 82. When I took it to work (they keep it freezing up here) it killed my cleaner shrimp because the water got too cold. I wouldn't put any fish (even small ones) because of the bio load, but corals, small crabs, snails, and my cleaner shrimp all did great in there.
I have some perfect LR that I used in mine that looked great in it if you would like to trade or buy it. I broke mine down after the shrimp died and put everything else in my main tank. I think it is about 10lbs total of live rock.
Let me know!
