Default New Sump Setup Recommendations - New tank

Well new tank (58 Gal Oceanic) is still in the setup phase...building on the LR I've got in the tank, and working on its first nitro. cycle.

Got a 12.5gal clear Rubbermaid tub (the biggest size I could get that would fit under the stand for the 58Gal tank I got, that I want to use as sump. Was wanting recommendations on what to use with the sump? The tank wasn't reef ready so I'll have to use and overflow box to pipe down to the sump, but was thinking of also setting the sump also to top off the main tank, what would I need for this? I'm thinking of putting in one of the Kalc/Calcium tubes to pipe in the CO2 to the tank, what is the most cost effective systems everone is using? ( I know getting lowball equipment will cause problems in the long run, but don't want to go totally crazy on equipment either, so trying to find some good middle-of-the-road equipment)

Any other things to put in the sump?

Thanks for all the help y'all have given me so far!!!! y'all are great!!!!

IMO the best and most cost effective way to maintain your water level is to is with a peristaltic pump and a bucket for Kalkwasser. Setup a timer on the peristaltic pump so it doeses in the evening after your lights go out and time it so it keep your levels the same from day to day (it will drop some during the day but return to normal at night). A step up is to build/buy a kalkwasser (neilson) reactor that will allow you to increase the amount of Ca you dose. Sumps are good places for heaters, ground probes, evil fish and macro algae for a refugium.

This is the type of pump you want. this one is wired for 230v but could be modified with a adapter from radioshack.
