Thanks for finding the post. I asked the owner about the 10% off and he said, "those guys came when I first opened the shop and I agreed to give them a discount. They have to come into the store to get a discount, no one has shown up." I guess that doesnt really answer your question as to weither or not he is going to give maast members a discount or not, but thats the answer he gave me.

Silverchair, we currently have 3 tank raised percs for sale. We are expecting a shipment of fish today as well. I'll post an updated livestock list with prices when I get home tonight.

Louis, I stopped by the other day and bought (2) Oceanic buckets but did not mention MAAST and Paid $44.xx each and Alamo has them for $39.xx each.

I also had my tanked drilled and had an overflow put into it which was very expensive more so then going with Alamo even though they both use AquaTrend and it's easier for me to go to Alamo, that kind of bothered me.

I also got a quote from Toy regarding a sump and it was still 15% cheaper to go with Alamo for the same sump from Aquatrend and Alamo is a few blocks away from my house. I thought that maybe by going right were they make them I would get a break, but it turns out it's cheaper for me to buy from Alamo which is closer.

I've tried to buy from you guys but I don't see any savings in driving the extra 20 minutes.

Toy is a nice person, but I need to save money where I can.

Personally, I tend to go where the prices are cheapest. I would just go to alamo if its closer/cheaper. They have a very low markup on EVERYTHING. They buy merchandise in huge quantities. Take a look at their pallets of salt/filters/livesand. A few weeks ago Alamo had livesand for about 15 bucks.. Thats only about 2 dollars above wholesale price.

I'll talk to Toy and see if its even possible for him to try to compete with those prices. Do you mind telling me how much you paid for your overflow from AquaTrend compared to what Alamo would have charged you?

I have 2 # for Forever Pets on Basse 733-0462 & 733-6243.

The live sand Alamo was selling was 14.95 but I was told cause Its past its shelf life.
