I have a 37 with 1 - 150 HQI Giesemann MH that is doing awesome without a sump. I have a hang on refugium and a hang on skimmer. Once my new system is ready for all the fish and corals I will be selling the setup.

I have a 75 with a hang on skimmer, no sump/refugium at all and it is working fine. Adding a refugium next week though.

I have a 20g with PC's and it does fine. Pc's will work for lots of corals. And the 29 could probably grow most corals with a 175 and all corals with a 250.
You'll see it this sunday. No fuge. HOB filter and skimmer only. My 40 will not have a fuge. All HOB and Macro in the tank.
