    Default DAS help

I got this DAS box from Yano and I'm trying to figure it out. I have a diagram of it bellow. It has 4 compartments (C1-4). Here is what I have gathered:
    - compartments C1 and C2 are connected, and C1 houses the skimmer and the inlet holes. This looks normal, so the water level of the tank will be at the level of the inlets, and the water level in C1 and C2 will change with evaporation, but will always be the same (C1 = C2)
    - The return pump should sit in C2
    - Compartment C3 is a mystery to me. The inlet holes are at the bottom, and it is not connected to any other compartment, the water level in it will always be the same as the tank. What is it used for?
    - Compartment C4 is a denitrification chamber. I think I need to drip water from my return pump into this compartment at very slow rate and let it over flow into the tank or C3.

I'm also nut sure how the skimmer in C1 works, do I need to add an air stone in C1? also, the water level in C1 fluctuates with evaporation, will the skimmer work consistently like that?

There should be a pump on the bottom of the skimmer and an ventury to control air injection. Water level won't matter as long as the pump is covered.

Yano got that from me with the 55. I never used it, but the guy I got it from had 802 in the C2 part with a pipe on it with holes wrapped in floss ( batting from fabric store ). The same for C3, but I think that it was a 402 because it is a little narrower.

The output for the pump goes over the top and the pump rests on the pipe. When Yano got it, it had a pump setup in the top the right way. I don't know if you got that part or not. The output for C3 also had a valve to drip water into C4.

You need to put and air stone in C1.

That is all I know about it. The guy said it worked great. ( Of course he wanted me to buy it )

I got the PVC elbows, but no pumps. Can you draw a diagram of that you are discribing?

I'm no artist, but I will try to explain some more.

I bet if you had the pump you would understand. The 802 Aquaclears are big and kinda rectangle. There should be 2 of those U shaped elbow sets. One for the first pump and one for the second. The output of the pump goes into that U and then down into the compartment. The pump rests against the walls of the compartment and hangs on the U.

I never saw the other pipes that were wrapped in floss, but I was told to get some PVC and attach it to the input of the pump and cut slits in it and then wrap it with floss. The pump will draw water from these inside the compartment.

    Thanks bryan,
Yano, will you be willing to part with the two pumps, I think that would make it a lot easier for me to figure out how to run it?
