Default What brand of aquarium do you have?

Okay, I'm looking around for a new tank, and have gotten some prices from different dealers, and I keep coming back to one basic question:

When you get right down to it, what is the REAL difference, other than name and price, between Oceanic, All Glass, Ocean View, and Aqua Trend?

Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts, opinions, and, dare I say it, facts. :-D

Not that it matters, but my current tank was made by Aqua Trend, and has served me just fine.

    Thanks,

Well the Poll doesn't let me select but I currently have tanks made by:

    AquaTrend
    Oceanic
    Clarity Plus

If you are going with a Glass tank you can't go wrong with Oceanic. If it's an Acrylic tank Tenecor does some pretty good tanks. Aquatrend tanks are good but I don't think the quality is as high as an Oceanic tank.

Could you go into a litle detail as to what you feel are the quality differences between the aqua trend and oceanic?

    Thanks.

i currently have an oceanic, and have an ocean view about to be on order. Here is the deal, silicone is pretty much silicone, glass it well, almost always pretty much glass, my oceanic hex scratched up just as easily as an all glass I once had... I don't so much care for who makes the tank as long as a few things apply:

    1) it comes in the shape I want
    2) Company has a good reputation

The only tanks I have heard gettng a bad rap here are bowfronts, from pretty much anyone I think. The only differences I have noticed in silicone, are whether it is black and in a nice running bead inside, or clear and smeared all around the inner joint.

    hope that helps...

Oceanic and AGA are owned by the same company and if I remember correctly OceanView is in there too.

Let me add my limited experience comment. I have a Marineland (Perfecto) 70 gal glass bowfront corner tank that I really love. Have only had it for about 8 mos. I opted to go with glass and agree with Ram Puppy, it came in the shape I wanted ( one-of-a-kind corner configuration) and from what I was able to find out, Perfecto had a good rep/warranty.

I went with Aquatrend, mainly for the price. Its a nice tank, and havnt had any problems with it, and it has a nice look and feel to it. I've heard rumors about their smaller tanks cracking easy, but those were the 10-20 gals and their reptile tanks supposedly.
