    Default quick question feeding zoos...

So, I have had the zoos I got from Sam for a few days, the ones in my 30 hex are doing great, I would argue those in my little 1 gallon nano are even better.

To feed them, I dissolve a little frozed cyclopzeeze into a crock with salt water, then suck it into an oral feeder (like a syringe you can get in the pharmacy at HEB, as a piece of blue air line tubing to lengthen it)

I then turn off the filter and power heads for a few minutes, and put some globs onto the zoo heads, the close up around it, and open up in about 10 mintes with nary a trace of the stuff to be found.

my question, is, does this closed up time vary? in my little nano, I have a rock I got from sam that has three different zoos on it, the largest are green browns, then there are some that are, I think best descibed as pale green/brown with lavender spots, and then some white ones. The green ones and the white ones seem to suck in their food and open right back up, the purpleish ones, have been closed the last few hours. First time I noticed this...

In the nano, after everyone has had their snack, I turn the filter on, let it run for a few minutes, then pull out the pads, rinse in salt water, and replace, I then do a small water change, using airline tubing as my siphon, I suck up any food that didn't get eaten.

I am using Natures seawater on the nano, salinity is stable, but I haven't tested anything else, as the zoos and shroom typically seem very happy, and the macro grows at a steady rate. Oh, and I run a carbon pad in the filter too... pics soon hopefully.

yeah, diff zoos will open at diff rates. ive got some that are able to take a small piece of krill down but it takes them about 15 minutes to do so.

    i wouldnt worry about it

"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." ~ Jack Handey
