How about these? taken with a coolpix 4500 I love the nikon's macro ability.
I can't think of any equal-class camera that can beat it for macros.
I prefer canon's for outdoor and general use though.... just not for macros.

I love my Panasonic FZ10 with 4.0MP 12x zoom Leica lens, image stabilization, manual fucus ring. It looks and feels awesome. Dont have any pics on this computer, but almost all of them turn out great, unless I screw something up.

Also check out the Canon S1 IS, and the Sony DCS-V1. Both take great shots but are really two totally diff. camera's. The cannon is an image stabilized 10x zoom slr like design with a very impressive movie mode but is only 3.2MP. The sony is a 5.0MP ultra compact with only 4x zoom, but has all the bells and whistles sony could pack into it.

Websites to check out are www.dpreview.com www.dcresource.com and www.steves-digicams.com

    TurboBrett,
Awesome macro shotsl, I especially love that last one. Kind of makes me want to go out and buy a Nikon just for macro shooting. I think if I do that my wife will be doing the shooting though. Still love my G3 for everyday shooting though, maybe I'll just go buy the macro lens and try out first.
