    Default Chipped tank.......

I am looking to buy a 75 gallon oceanic but it has a chip on it half way up on one corner, its about 3/4 inch long and 1/4 inch deep. In your best opinion, should I leave this tank alone, or do you think it will be ok....they want 200.00 for tank and stand. (New)

I would'nt think it would be a big deal other than cosmetic. I have seen lots of tanks very filled w/ a chip on a edge. I do understand your concerns though. I would have to think real hard. First thoughts though, Pass.

Hard to tell without actually seeing it, my gut feeling tells me,,, leave it.

I had a 150 that had several chips in it. It was fine and never leaked the entire time I had it.

However, for the price I'd consider passing. You can get a lot of tanks for just a little more money that wouldn't have the chips.

heck, for that much might as well buy peej's setup, its like 120 gallons or something for 250! i personally would be extremely wary about a chip in the tank, maybe silicone it???

I just bought a 110 w/stand from dave, it has some scratches that I can remove with a scratch kit, and a chip on the left side. I don't think it will be a big deal, in fact, I think I may be able to make the ship go away. I am going to experiement on it with a windshield repair kit. 150 bucks, so I definately wouldn't pay that price for a 75
