getting rocks and other things?
Im looking to fill a 125 gal chiclid tank with rocks and branches. Is there a quarry or somewhere cheap maybe even free to get some of this stuff? and if so what is the right steps to clean the rocks before putting them in a tank? this is not a established tank so it will be cycled before adding any fish.

Guadalupe river!!! I would go there for my rock and any driftwood you can find. Just make sure its cleaned well. Good Luck.

whats a good rule of thumb on cleaning?

I have never done it so someone else have any ideas?

I would use some bleach on the rock, rinse well, then leave it out in the sun for a few days. Any residual bleach or chloramines will chemically react in the presence of light and heat.

josh I would just need directions and a timemondays I have our meetings from 7 am to noon then Im free till about 2:30 then back to work till 8pm
