Is that Xenia in the picture? I have heard that it can grown ON a coral if it's close to it. Maybe someone will verify this.
Nice SPS though. I hope it treats you right.![]()
Johnny
yeah this guy had xenia EVERYWHERE in his tank
Nice coral. Where'd you get it from?
30 L aquarium, 50 lbs LR, 44 lbs LS, 192 W PC, CPR Backpack Skimmer
Xenia is definately a problem if it gets too close.

how do i kill it? Peel it off?
Take out the acro and peel it off, yes. You may have to repeat again in a week. After a couple times it should be gone. Also if you are careful you can scrub it with an old toothbrush but be sure you don't scrub the acro tissue. Also don't hold the acro with your fingers if you can help it and when you put it back into the tank blow it off a little by holding it in front of a powerhead for a few seconds and rotating it around.

Thanks Tim! I got this from a guy who was selling his whiole setup. The amazing part, he hasnt done a water change in 2.5 years! He had no filtration, only a BakPak 2 on a 125. His lights were 6500k MH, with 4x55w PC actinic. The ENTIRE tank was full of xenia. The whole back glass, everything. Everything was brown, but i bought it anyways. It is starting to change color a bit, but no polyps. Oh, and I am starting a xenia fuge. I hope it works for me! :-D :-D :-D
Xenia is a great filter. I'm surprised the calcium stayed up.... Did he add calcium? At any rate you never know what you'll get with the brown ones..... You may end up with something spectacular! With good lighting.
