Hey all.

Ok. My 180 was doing great and about 3 weeks ago I started to have a coral problem. My frog spawn had all but died and has since come back to full strength and looks great. Everything else was doing great and in the last few weeks the corals have done the listed below. The Coraline Algae is spreading great. Good color.

SPS- Polyps not comeing out and a few of them are bleaching. The Birdsnest looks like the outer skin is pealing off. The Birdsnest was doing great and growing. The other SPS were barely growing but were looking good. My Purple rim plate is still doing great that I got from Jim N.

Starburst- Stays in or barley comes out.
Zoanthids- Lost color and is only about 50% extended
Sun Polyps- Same as Zoanthids
Candy cane- Looking good and growing and spliting.
Trumpet- Looks great and growing
Finger Leather- recessed a little but still has polyp extension
Mushrooms- Withering and not comeing out very much.
Xenias- Pulled back. Will not expand
Waving hand- Half pulled back. Little extension

Clams are doing fine. 1 Crocea and 2 Maximas

2 med Yellow Tangs
1 Bicolor blenny
1 6 line wrasse
1 small Black Perc
about a dozen snails. I know I need more of them but the tank is fairly new and not a lot of growth for them yet.


I have done 15 gallon water changes the last 3 weeks except for this weekend.

I had a problem with my Ca Reactor. The output clogged up so the effluent inside becam very milky. I turned off the Co2 and have been dripping only the effluent for a week or so. The above problems had started before this. I rinsed my Reactor medis yesterday and still have a little milkyness but should run it out soon and start the Co2 again in a few days. The skimmer is a custom and has been producing normal amounts of gunk. So I dont think it is a skimmer problem. I added carbon for the 1st time this last friday. I dont know yet if it is helping. I do not run any mechanical filtration. I do run a Fuge with a little Macro that is slowly growing. 3 types. Lots of small Pods in the Fuge.

I feed nightly for the corals. I alternate feedings of Cylop-eeze, Invert banquet, Phytoplankton.
The fish get fed once daily at night. They are doing great.
I dose once weekly with Coral Vite. I do not dose anything else. I dose maybe once a week with 200ml of ESV Ca. I never have to dose for Alk or PH.

I use RO/DI water that does need new filters.

I do not have a Nitrate or Nitrite kit.

I have about 100 lbs LR. I need more of this too. But I also need $ for this.
400W MH 6500k about 24 inches above water.
3 Bulb 660W VHO 2 Daylight and 1 Actinic about 12 inches above water.
2 T5 actinics for early and late lighting about 24 inches above water.

I do need more water flow. I run the max amount possible for my overflow which is built into the tank. 2 little giant pumps. Est about 1800gph. 1 Maxijet 1200. But need more $ for pumps too.
