    Default RODI question....

    RODI setup talk

Now say I get a rodi unit... by tank is far from the sink how would this work? the unit would be under my sink does the unit run all the time or do I turn it on when I want to use it and topoff the tank that way? or is it a unit that I can hook up the water hose to run the water through it then into a bucket and then into my tank...

I know some of these questions may sound stupid but hey I can't be the only one wondering it

the unit will only run when there is room to fill up the pressurized tank. So, say it comes with a 3 gallon tank, and you use one gallon, the unit will run to replace that gallon, and you will never have to lift a finger to do anything about it. The unit will always try to maintain the status qou.

As far as getting the water to your tank, I simply bought 30 ft roll of 1/4 inch tubing (wha tmine uses (I think) from the sprinkler area of home depot and used that. I am replacing it with an equal length of clear food grade tubing (i got the stuff from the sprinkler section and think it alters the taste of the water somewhat) When I need to top of fmy tank, I unroll it, hang the spigot on the tank, and let-er rip for a few seconds.

Oh, and all the parts you will need for making splits and what not are available at home depot. It's pretty simple, I installed my unit in half an hour. Only thing homedepot doesnt carry are new filters.

Neither HD or Sears carries RODI. They do carry drinking water RO systems - these are something differnet than what you are looking for.
