Thread: Laying out Canopy

    Default Laying out Canopy

Can anyone give me the dimensions of an XM 175 Watt Metal Halide? I figure any bulb with similar specs will be reasonably close, I am laying out the canopy I have been constructing, and would like to make sure that it won't conflict with any other items in the canopy. (I want to give it breathing room too!

Have you checked the Hellolights.com website? Not sure if they list bulb dimensions, but if you email them I'm sure they would be glad to help out.

Shouldnt you be more worried about reflector dimensions?

    Default not really

I am building the canopy, and the reflector from scratch, so it will be what i want it to be... this is not going to be the best setup ever by far, it's what I can afford right now, and what I can cram into a 30 hex canopy and PROBABLY keep cool... (Since heat is such a consideration over such a small volume of water I am forgoing a traditional reflector, painting the inside of the canopy with a white epoxy paint (same stuff you find on a washing machine) and am currently desinging what we would call a 'heat pipe / blow hole" combo in the computer biz, and trying to do so without losing much light to it... it's a challenge, but I think in the end, this canopy is going to be incredible.
