    Default Rinsing bioballs??

    Should you rinse the detritus and crap out of the bioballs?

    yes, do it when you do a waterchange and use the oldwater to rinse them.

    You really don't want to rinse with chlorox, do You? In a way that is what you would be doing.

    It's good to rinse them out with old tank water as mentioned. Do this every so often to get rid of the food and other detrius trapped in the balls. DO NOT scrub the bio balls too much as this will wipe off the helpful bacteria that are on them.

    Just get rid of them and then the problem is solved. Shouldnt need them with LR.

    Yes, most people that have been in the hobby got rid of their bioballs a long time ago as live rock works much better as filtration. Also helps to have a refugium in addition to the live rock. Normally I would advise against using them to someone starting a new tank. But, if the system is existing and doing well and you don't mind rinsing them every so often, why rock the boat?

    Well I mean I never really thought about it. Anybody got any spare macroalgae i could tthrow down in my sump?
