Thanks for the responses!. Larry, yours in particular is most informative. What would you folks recommend as a good, faiirly active tank mate for what I have? My scopas has always been somewhat timid, cruising the tank until he sees you, then hiding out until you're gone or you get still. The exception to this is when they're being fed. Then he comes flying out, grabs a bite of dinner, and then runs back behind/under/inside the rocks to eat that one, then back out again. While this activity is entertaining, it means that most times, to enjoy him, I have to sneak up to the tank. I feel that the addition of another fish might get him out more.
Thoughts?
P. S. If it makes any difference in your recommendations, Beth and I are hoping to convert to a larger tank sometime at the end of this year or early 2005. Still not sure what size, but maybe in the 100-125 range.
