Thread: placement of MH bulbs how close is too close?

Default placement of MH bulbs how close is too close?

I am currently in the process of wiring my light hood and was wondering where to position my MH'S.
I will be running 4 250 watt Iwasaki's and I would like to sandwich a pair on each side of my 110 between my Actinics.
Does anyone know if there is a problem with putting these bulbs too close together? Will the heat from the bulbs affect one another if they are inches apart?
I have about 18 inches of width to work with 12 inches taken up on each side by flourescents and 4inches total taken up by the sakis this gives me an inch of space on each side of the MH'S. Another possiblity is that I guess I could scrap one pair of flourescents. What do you guys think?

the 4 250s are they 10k or 2 and 2 or all 20ks? if you run 2 10ks and 2 20s you won't need flourescents. hope this helps

    Default mh halide bulbs

No actually they are all going to be 6500k bulbs. They supposedly burn a little yellow so thats why I am using the flourescents.
