    Default recommendation of calcium reactors

I want to purchase a calcium reactor and am looking for a recommendation as to what is the best one to purchase for a75gal reef. PROS/CONS etc. Most effective and easiest to use.

Welcome to MAAST Steve. There are afew of our members that make reactors, I'm not to sure on who , but just hang tight you'll start getting contact info, and feed back on just how good they work.

Matt makes them. They have gotten good reviews as have his skimmers. I just ordered a reactor from him.

I wouldn't buy a reactor or skimmer from anyone else again! I've seen Matt's work, and he is hands down, the best fabricator I have ever seen. Buy it from Matt. He is a tiny bit more expensive, but WELL worth every penny.

Thanks, guys. Actually, I'm fairy sure the reactors are pretty competitive price-wise, given the size of the things. The reason I have to charge what I do is because I use really high quality materials, which unfortunately are expensive. I just bought a sheet of Spartech polycast 3/8, and it cost about $300. But, given the work that goes into making these things, and especially the fact that any failure on an aquarium product can mean serious problems, I think it's worth it. For anyone that's interested, I would highly recommend taking the MACO acrylic fabrication courses with Brian Ferguson. He designed the stuff that I make, and probably anyone with a knack for these sorts of things could make their own just as well once they've taken these classes.
