So far, I'm still sold on the Fuji. I also saw a Minolta DiMage Z-1 that is equivalent to the Fuji. Just holding and taking a few pictures with both cameras, I felt like the Minolta was a really nice Hyundai and the Fuji felt like a Mercedes or BMW. - They both do the same thing, it just feels better with one of them.

I had a Fuji before the Nikon. The Fuji was much easier to use. The Nikon takes a little work to get it to do what you want, but once I figured it out (after about three months), I do like it better.

I would still be using the Fuji today if it had not been stolen. Do not remember which model Fuji I had, but it was very easy to use, much more so than the Nikon.

I got a Olympus C-2000 Z and I love this camera. If I ever buy another Camera it will be another Olympus. Just my 2cents.

Joe, to add different lenses to the camera there's a button you push that removes a little ring around the camera lens. Then theres an adapter you put onto that and then you can add pretty much any canon lens or filter over that. Is it worth it? Well, I think it would be, especially the macro lens. It would help take really good close pictures of critters in your aquarium. The fuji you're looking at is probly gonna be better than the canons i recommended though. But for college students on a smaller budget the canons are pretty good.

Joe, it really comes down to what you want out of your camera. Nothing beats a nikon for Macro shots. No I don't own one though, I opted for the Canon G3 as a better all around camera. You may also want to check out the new Canon A80, the 4 mp version of the 60 and 70 with the swing out LCD monitor. Here are some sights that could help you out on decision making.

Let me just say that after owning (2) Fuji's that I Love my Canon S30.

I've taken thousands and thousands of pictures with my S30 and absolutely love it. I even bought the underwater case that will let me take it up to 100 FT and let me upgrade to the S40, S45 or S50 with the same case.

The reason why I didn't like the Fuji's was because there always seemed to be too much of a shatter lag even when done manually and the FinePix 3800 almost always took poor pictures.

I have the FinePix 3800. It is a pretty good picture. Good quality on the images. But there is shutter lag and I am still trying to find the best way to take shots of my tanks. Everything in my gallery was taken with that camera. It has a macro setting which is nice and a 6x optical zoom which I like.

There are lots of great cameras out there if you have some cash.

Just went to a couple of websites as suggested by brewer. Reviews for Fuji S5000 are not that great. I would say 75% of the reviews complain about either image quality or shutter lag. They were saying that shutterlag can be more than one second! That is completely unacceptible when taking pictures of wildlife in or out of an aquarium. IMO image quality should not even be in question in a 400 - 500 dollar camera. I think I'll keep on shopping.

The foggy pictures while scuba diving was because I didn't prepare the underwater casing correctly and the glass from the casing got fogged up.
