Thread: Bring something back??

    Default Bring something back??

I am going on a cruise in about a week and will be doing alot of snorkeling, partying and getting blasted. I am thinking about bringing something back from florida, or from some place I visit on the cruise. I went on a cruise in may and found a pink serpent star in Grand Cayman, I put this little guy in a sprite bottle with some sea water and sand, and today he resides in my reef tank. Everytime I see that thing in my tank, it triggers a little memory of the blast I had on that trip. I would like to bring back a critter or coral of some sort, I know it is against the law to chop them of e reef. Does anyone think it will be dangerous to bring back a gallon jug of sand from the reef? Maybe I should just buy something from a florida fish store, I would imagine they have lots of stuff? What do yall think
    ?

    Default blue legged hermit crabs

blue legged hermit crabs man, bring back as many hermit crabs as you can find, fill buckets, truck beds, and whatever plastic container you find to the brim and then donate to "the AlienAnchovies needs a decent clean up crew because his tank sucks-fund"

I don't suppose you could get a queen angel in your sprite bottle?

Some small fighting conches might be good.

I once took afew hot sause containers that I got a bill miiler, I think, and picked up a few small inverts off of a little island in florida(about 10feet around) and shipped them back in a box to dallas every thing lived except a few shrimp and a weird fish that I found. I hat two other fish make it o.k. total shipping was about 25 dollars for a box about 10x8x6 shipped about 18 containers. just an idea.

If you start shipping, you better check packing regs. If it leaks, you get to pay huge fines, and it can be in the $10,000.00 range. Thats why all the extra box bag liners come with our shipping containers. Shipping fish as well as some other things, requires O2 injection and regs require box labels as well.

Best to leave the livestock in the caribean and not have to face possible $10,000 fine by Custom.
Look at all those live rocks on the beach at Florida's state park!

actually I do, but he is very straight and would be ****ed. I may just try to find a lfs in florida and get some corals as souvenirs from the trip. this way nobody gets in trouble. Of course this could all change if I were to come across something extra tempting :-D
