yeah, yeah. **** goverment. Nah, **** car manufacturers!
As far as the filters go, sure it is just some plastic and some molding, but it takes money to do product design and development, build a manufacturing plant with machines and come up with new molds for the plastic, market the products, package them and then ship around the world. Plus pay all the normal operating expenses yearly. If it were so easy we would all be doing it in our garages!
Overall, the majority of stuff in this world is overpriced. Vinhs DVD player is just like computers. Give a new technology a couple years and it's less than half the original price and twice as good. Computers you can buy for $750 now cost $2000 two years ago!
But you also get what you pay for. My boss loves buying stuff on Ebay, especially computer stuff as it is so cheap. Always gets crap. Got a laptop the other day that the LCD screen panel came off a different kind of laptop, it was 2inches wider than the main part of the laptop and was put on using some JB Weld! All kinds of problems with that thing. But, he got a good deal on it! :roll2:
