Need sponsor ideas...

I have been a long-time lurker here and just never really had the opportunity/need to post, until now of course. This is waaayyy off topic! There are so many really creative people here with great ideas and everyone is always willing to help. I want to pick your brains and ask for everyone's advice and ideas.

I have a friend who has recently been given a great opportunity to drive for a start-up NASCAR Busch Series team. They do not have a track record as a team to attract national sponsorship. The driver is extremely successful on the local circuit in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia areas, as well as a few races here in Texas and has title championships on a NASCAR touring series.

Team management has been throwing around the idea of getting regional sponsors for each race vs. national sponsorship, which is very hard to come by. I would like to see if anyone here has any ideas of companies or organizations in Texas that might be interested in sponsoring the Texas Motor Speedway Busch race for 2004. It seems to be like a great opportunity for a local company to get national exposure without the high dollar/long term commitment that some of the other teams require.

Any thoughts from marketing gurus out there?

I don't want to use this forum as any kind of publicity tool so I would like to keep the team and driver unmentioned, at least for now.

The Nanos are now in the 75g. I went back to school and I am still working full time. That fact along with all of the kid's school activities and mine, I didn't have time for three tanks. They are awaiting revival though!

I look for a revival of the nanos sometime this winter or next spring. I am slowing down from 9 semester hours to only three after this semester and should have time for more reef related activities then! I can't wait!!!!

You should make it down for the next meeting it is at Jim's place. This is a really cool group! Great bunch of people and VERY knowledgable. You will find a huge difference from Austin reefkeepers. Austin reefkeepers was fun, but it seems to have moved aside for MAAST.

Jim's tanks are awesome! I may see what I can do but don't know about it making it right now. Maybe after the first of the year when things slow down.
