Default What ate my Colt Corals?

I put 2 small frags of colt coral in my tank and in 2 days both are gone. What could have eaten them and how do I find it?

The rocks they were on are both sitting right where I put them, as if there had never been a coral on them.

I dont think any of my fish feed on Colt's as they dont bother any of my other corals.

    Any ideas?

how did u attach them to the rock??? they may very well have slimed their way off of the rock if u attached them with superglue gel......most leathers do this(or at least in my experience) a good way to prevent it is stick a plastic toothpick through the base of the coral then put one end of a rubber band around one end of the toothpick and strap it around a rock over to the other side of the toothpick.......when i begins to grow and attach itself u can just cut it all off and take the toothpick out!!! voila!

    hope it helps, steve

ps. what sort of inverts do u have in there, its not always fish that feed off of corals.

I had a nudibranch (sp?) that devoured an entire colony in 2 days. They were cream colored like the coral and layed egg masses under the coral itself. Mine ate the whole coral then died out without even touching my other leathers. They dont hold well w/ superglue as Steve siad so Id look behind rocks too.
