I think snails are sensitive to temperature. I used to loose snails often until I got a chiller. The temperature is always at 77 now. I have had the chiller for about 4 months. I have noticed any dead snail. Before the chiller, the temperature was always at least 80, and sometime it went up to 83. Every time the temperature went up about 82, I would have some dead snails few days after.
