    Josh,
    The one I have on my 20g does that occasionally, try soaking it in a solution of hot water and white distilled vinegar for a couple hours, that usually does the trick. Also, if you havnt already, add a wooden airstone to the reaction chamber, drill a small hole thru the collection cup lid and use a length of rigid airline with the airstone at the end powered by a small airpump, mine skims like crazy.

    take it apart, clean the hose and the conectors aslo mess with that little plastic knob thing you connect to the hose, pluss they need some time to "mature" ive had mine for a year already & have had similar problems... let the sponge get dirty too & clean it out every time the skimate chamber fills up about half way

    Josh;

    Get smart and toss that toy; I'll build you a real skimmer. You already have the pump, unless someone bought your blueline. :-D

    I think you might have a little too much pump on that. I got bored and built a replica of bak-pak for my 10g nano. Its a little smaller, but works just as well with a rio600.

    The MJ1200 might be too powerful. Try a MJ900. The manufacture stated that the skimmer work best with a lower power pump like a Rio 600. If you get tired of this skimmer, please let me know.
