    Default X-10

Who is running X-10 to control their tank functions?

I plan on setting my lights and pumps up with X-10 and controlling them from my computer. With all of the float and water sensors available I should be able to do some really cool things.

I would like to see what other people are running and hear some first hand experience.

    Thanks,
    Dave

X-10 is cool. Yes, it includes that webcam thing. Mostly it is used for home automation.

Interesting enough, I refuse to buy x10 until they respect user & guest policy.

    Default X-10

I have used x-10 for 15 years now. Controls all the lights in the house as well as the sprinkler system and of course my tank lights and pumps. I am going to try and up grade to the new sysytem so I can dim stuff. Its a great system. Radio shack lhas imited items as well as h.depot and I think lowes has them as well. No pop-ups there :-D

X-10 is great for controlling your system. Just make sure that you get appliance modules, not the weaker Lamp Modules. If there is a Fry's Electronics in your area, they also carry some of the modules, and some controllers.

If you want a timer program without having to purchase the ActiveHome package, AND you have the Fireworks module (They were practically giving these away a while back), I found this FREE timer program that works pretty well. You can download here. http://users.ntplx.net/~jpjones/tech/downloadf10.htm
