Default Recommend a Fish that will eat my Caulerpa?

    Gents -
Is there a type of fish that I could add to my 42G hex tank that would end the incredible proliferation of caulerpa that I'm currently battling? It was really nice for a long while, but it's grown a little more than I had hoped and taken over an excessive amount of my tank. I could just use my hands and rip most of it out, but I'd like to add a new fish to my tank anyway, so I'm hoping there is a type of fish that would like to eat feather caulerpa and also strand(?) caulerpa. I think "strand" is the correct name, but if not, it looks like a fern or a very wide and tall blade of St. Augustine grass (I got it from Chris).
The new fish would have to play well with:
    1 Yellow Jawfish
    1 Tomato Clown
1 4 Striped Damsel (not very aggressive - the Clown keeps him in line)
    1 Yellow Goby.

thanks for any help - doug.

Tang? They should make short work of any plant life.

    Hey Doug,

The other type is Caulerpa Prolifera. I wouldn't really recommend a tang for your sized tank but I'm betting a small foxface would find it a suitable home. They're voracious algae eaters and will make quick work of your caulerpa problem. You would more than likely not have "enough" for him though so be prepared to buy a feeding clip for nori and other veggies to supplement his feeding habits.

My blue Regal Tang ate ALL my razor caulerpa....that's why I haven't had any more to donate Chris!! ;) But they are a good choice to help thin it out. But also, I think a 42 gal may be too small for a regal tang. They need room to glide across the tank.................... :-D

Thank you all very much and my apologies for the 'sexist' greeting in my message... It's good to see so many people on these boards and even better that they're men and women... thanks again and I'm off to learn about the foxface...
