Default Dumping my wet/dry trickle filer

I think my recent declining tank has to do with my wet/dry and bio balls.
Plus the filer came with a skimmer, but I don't think it's all that great. I have seen my leather, mushrooms and xenia all close up and they look so very unhappy..

I purchased a AquaC Remora and will remove the wet/dry when it arrives.
Until than, daily R/O water changes...

I have seen some improvement, but not enough.

I washed the bio balls about 6 months ago, and that did help, but aside from feeding too much (which I was I think, due to an ich outbreak, which is over) That is the only thing that can be causeing the Nitrites to be high.

I am also seeing more hair algae...
    Yuck!

    This hobby is never boring..

Your correct it is my Nitrates that are high, they are between 0 and 12.5.
I have a wet dry with a built in skimmer and I did a water change for 3 days in a row.

Today I cleaned the bio balls and the chamber where the skimmer sits(it was really bad).

I'm hoping this will help. My xenia has not fully opened in days and I noticed me green stars are now retracted..

I'll just keep testing and changing the water until my skimmer arrives.

Do you think Changing the wet/dry to a really good skimmer will cause a crash??

I do have a good bit of live rock and sand.

    Thanks Joshua,
That sounds like a good way to go about it. I plan on moving the bio balls to a small tank to keep the bacteria alive. I'd like to get rid of the wet/dry and include the seeded bio balls with it.

Maybe you could convert it to a refugium
    50gal cube in the works.
