    Default Xenia Problem.

Well, I have five small Xenias that were doing great. Then decided to get the product Pro-Buffer dKH from Kent Marine. Well, the first day that I added this product nothing at all seemed too happened to the Xenias. The next day since it recommends adding it every day to raise the PH my Xenias began to retract a bit. Since Xenias do this all the time I did not worried much but the third day that I added the product my Xenias began to get smaller, smaller, and smaller. Not knowing what to do my first reaction  was turn on protein skimmer. This did not do anything for the Xenias so I decided to add Reef Complete by Seachem. Well, my Xenias are opening and pulsating again. I feel so much better now. Can any one please tell me if this occurred because the Pro-Buffer lowered my Calcium and the Reef Complete brought it back to a better lever? I have not been able to check my levels until after this post because of work. I will get back with this info in a few minutes. If any one can recommend any other things for to do I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all who read my post.

    Sincerely,
    Fabian

 Sorry for the book report but thanks to this experiment my Coralline is growing like crazy.

Probably your xenia was reacting to a ph change. Once my kw dosing set-up broke and let a bunch of kw into the tank at once. The xenia closed up for a few days, then was fine.

Thanks for your quick response and all of your info. My Xenias are looking better and better every day. I have to admit, I must be more careful with my dosing. I just finish doing a water change and re-organizing my rock I feel a bit tired due to this. Please allow me to say that this is a great hobby to have; my wife hardly ever complaints about it (except the spending of $) cause I am always at home. I never thought starting with salt water aquarium would be such a great experience. Take care and hope so see many of you on the next meeting.

    Sincerely,
    Fabian
