I'm registered for the DIY skimmer class. Several registrants from the DIY calcium reactor class have also signed up; in fact, the calcium reactor discussion group has basically morphed into a preliminary discussion on skimmer design/construction. Apparently, this class will be a bit more advanced than the calcium reactor class, and a bit more expensive due to the increased cost of parts for the high quality skimmer. Still, I would recommend it, and there are probably several registrants who did not take the reactor class.

I still don't have any photos of my reactor, but looking at an old marine fish and reef magazine article, I saw that some guy who built a 3000 gallon tank had a skimmer and reactor that looks very similar (although WAY bigger) and was probably built by Brian Ferguson, the class instructor.
