I've noticed we're getting a lot of people to the site that are new to the hobby (which is great) and the forum does provide an excellent place to get your questions answered but...

I'd like to propose an Editorial section for members to submit their thoughts and process of not only starting out, but all other facets of the hobby as well.

Your experience doesn't matter, you can write out a long story of the trial and errors of setting up your very first tank, your concerns with the future of the hobby, or a detailed process of how things work.

The only requirements I ask is that you elaborate the facts, and no short 1 paragraph articles.

All submissions should be sent to articles@maast.org with your full name and email address. You're also more than welcome to add pictures to the article, just be sure it's not something copywritten by someone else and that we (MAAST) would have permission to post it.

Chris; In academic circles this is known as a "call for papers" although in an online forum, I guess it should be a "call for electrons" or something. Good idea! Can I submit the crime novel I've always wanted to write, as long as there's reefkeeping info imbedded in the story?

As long as it's educational to the rest of us Matt. :P

I'm actually starting to get some responses to this so in the future we might have a pretty good collection of information.

    ;)

Just thought i'd update this thread once again.

This is a prime example of a very simple, yet effective article that would be a perfect resource to add to our site.

That article was written up by a member of the Dallas/Fort Worth club.
