Default Anyone have a school of yellow lyretail anthias?

Do any of you in the Austin area keep yellow lyretails, and would you be willing to show them off for me? I'd love to see some in person before buying a school for my 205. The only lyretails I've seen before, and the ones that made me want a school, are the pink and orange ones. But in pictures it looks like the yellows might be even prettier.

    Thanks!

Default Make that _any_ anthias you want to show off

    Thanks for the welcome, RedDragon

I'm not set on lyretails vs other anthias. If you have some other kind of anthias you especially like, I'll take any recommendations. I'd just like to get the neatest ones I can find that are relatively hardy and that school tightly.

as a whole the anthias family is a little on the timid & fincky side. there are a few exceptions though i believe the lyretail anthias you're speaking of is the pseuda. squamipinnis which the best sp. to go with because they tend to be the most hardiest out of the group. in a 205 you could get a nice school going maybe up to about 8, but make sure if you buy them you only get one male which is the red variety you were describing with the rest being female the orange variety. also make sure none of the females are in the process of changing into a male as males will fight to the death.

I am considering a fish order soon also, so if you'd like me to get you a school let me know.

If you don't mind driving to College Station you can come see mine. I have a male and 4 females in a 75. (yes a little crowded but the tank isn't fully stocked and some will be relocated soon.) They do school together a lot and swim on their own a lot. Just let me know if you'd like to see and don't mind the drive.
