Pump?

Rio is a poor choice in pumps. Take it back if you haven't used it much yet. It is a decent size, but in my opinion not large enough for acropora. Go with the other suggestions here and get a mag 7 or 9, they will pump water much better than the Rio and they won't short out and cause a mushroom cloud over your tank. If you must kill your tank with the rio, get a grounding probe to buy you enough time, when it does start shorting out, to get a new pump. I really like dolphins, but I don't think it would work in the application you want it for.

Im learning and thankful for all the help I get at this site. I dropped off the tank today so Im hoping to have it back next week and after a cpl weeks Ill let you know. As for the SCWC for 30.00 ? That would be ? and purchased where? If I do the sump over flow on the 100 will I need the one purchased today for it?

I had about 12 running at one time and they have all shorted out except for the ones I use in fresh water only, and they have problems when I start mixing salt.

If you're looking for ciruclation pump inside the main tank, several Maxijet would take up less room then the Rio pump.
