    Default lighting small refugium

    Can I use a regular incandescent lite bulb on my refugium or do I need a regualr fluroscent, or a special fluroscent bulb

    hd also has one that is only 8$. its made by commercial electric, also a 6500K. its oly 20W, ive got one on my nano....here's a pic

    I've seen regular plant lights work good (purchased as you local plant store)... I am using a replacement bulb ($14) from my LFS for my "stock" hood lamp... It is working GREAT...

    Check out hellolights.com , depending on the size of your fuge, you can get a 13W 50/50 retro fit kit for about 27 shipped. They also have some larger kits.

    I think you would at least want to have a flourscent that reccomended it for plants. The best lamp would probally be a 50/50 in my opinion.
