Eclipse Hood enough light for Anemone tank???

My bubble tip anemone is walking aimlessly around the tank, I'm tired of clearing corals out of it path. My clown is hosting in anything else but the bubble tip anemone. It's trying to host in my Gonipora, Frogspawn, Mushroom, brain, bubble corals. So, the clown and the anemone need to get it own tank.

To keep it simple, I plan on buying a 37 gallon( same dimension as a 29 gallon, but taller.) I'm also planning to buy a Marineland System 3 Light Hood & filter.

My question is, will the manufacture stock light from the Marineland Eclipse be enough for my bubble tip anemone? I think I'm going to remove all the mushrooms from my main tank, and put it in the anemone tank too. I'd rather not spend the extra money to buy and retrofit a 2x55Watts PC kit into the Eclipse hodd.

Vinh, up to you but even for e.quadricolor that sounds like insufficient light light. My gut reaction is it would slowly waste away. I know watts per gallon is not the best measure but the spec sheet shows that as 20 wat fixture which would be just under 2 wpg.

Unless you already have the eclipse hood, I would recommend using the 30" hood from Ah supply with 2 55 watt PC tubes. I had a 29 with an eclipse, then did a mod on it from inlandreef.com. This put 2 55 watt PCs in the eclipse hood. The difference was amazing, but after about 6 months the PCs melted the plastic shield on the hood. So I gave up and bought the DIY hood from Ah. Their reflectors really help. For water movement, a powerhead will move as much around as the eclipse. I'm pretty sure that the Ah set up is about the same cost as the eclipse; WAY better light.

Here's a thought; if you have the eclipse already, try replacing the NO tubes with VHOs and run a remote ballast. I'll bet it will work better than the PCs. You'd have to scrounge for a cheap ballast to drive the VHOs, but the tubes will fit better than the PCs and because of this, maybe not melt the plastic. If it works, alot of people will be interested....

My E.quad is in a 10 gal under 2 36 watt PCs. It likes the light.

Thanks. I do have a Work Horse 7 ballast laying around. I"m buying this used from someone. The tank is already drilled, so I can add a sump if need to. With the Eclipse hood & w/out a sump, how much water evaporation do you lose per week?
