you can clear it up quickly by putting a tupperware container full of filter floss on the intake of a powerhead. just cut a hole big enough for the intake tube to fit in the lid and poke a bunch of holes in the container. as the powerhead draws water thru the container, the fine sand particulate will get trapped in the floss. carefully change out the floss every couple of hours and the tank will be clear in no time.
