I do know when I was running my 3 1watt led bulbs on the 180g at night the corals would stay active a lot longer than any other moonlighting I had used in the passed. I have to say when they 1st came on to the seen I had my reservations, but Ive seen several amazing aquariums since then that are running all Leds. The same can be said about MH and T5.
I'm actually about to work on my programming to keep my blues on at 1/255 of max, so about 0.39%. I was worried it would produce too much light overnight and the corals would never get a 'rest'. I know you can have too much light overnight, but what about just a little usable light at night? What would the corals do? Stay open or close? I may just make a smaller moonlight strip instead though.
