DIY ~ Convert 55 Gallon to Sump and Refugium
324234.jpg
Its a backward photo but anyways, From right to left, 4" X 16 " Inlet chamber ; Live rock Rubble will be in here as well as a filter sock, Over flows into a 15" x 14" Skimmer Chamber ( Will build pedastool to have skimmer in 10" of water ) , Overflows into te first bubble trap into the, Refugium 16" x 12" ( will have sand bed and probably some cheateo maybe some snails, have not got to CUC yet ) , Finally the return Pump champer, 8" x 10" Aquarium is 12 inches front to back so there is your third dimension.
Inlet = 3.3 Gallons
Skimmer = 10.9 Gallons
Refugium = 10 Gallons
Return = 4.2 Gallons
So, before I start siliconing my glass baffles in any concerns with this? I wanted to have a seperate feed for the refugium to control flow but, I couldn't figure it out without making the whole thing overly complicated. SO its going to be
Inlet -> Skimmer -> Refugium -> Return
