I've had a pair of maroon clowns for about 6 months now. They still don't hang out together, but they don't fight either. It's the strangest thing.

I started with a misbar gold stripe, waited until it got to be close to two inches, then got a tiny misbar.

I had a heck of a time introducing them. I quarantined the male, and the misbars are hard to come by, so I didn't want to risk losing him.

When I introduced them, I put the male in a box and let the female watch him for a while. Then I switched them, putting her in the box while he roamed the tank. Except he didn't roam, he just hid. She beat him up pretty bad multiple times, so I finally nabbed them both and stuck them in a quarantine tank together for weeks. I had to tear apart the entire aqauscape to get the female. Maybe she was traumatized.

While in quarantine, she never harmed him. When I reintroduced them to the tank, they swam their separate ways. They are occasionally within 6 inches of each other, but it seems coincidence more than bonding.

I introduce the male back in February. 6 months later, they don't pair up and they don't fight.
