That's a great article. I never broke off scutes - I thought it would hurt them! haha...
This bit was interesting:
"Another thing that I do is place a Tupperware container under the clam with a little bit of sand in it. Every time I clean the clam I throw away the sand in the container and replace it with new sand. The snails will burrow down into the sand to hide during the day."
Sometimes something so simple can make such a Huge difference.
Good luck with the snail problem, it's not as dire as it sounds if you put a lit elbow grease into it. Another excuse to get in the tank, right?
