This was originally started by Cliff in February of 2007.

There has been a discussion as of late in the Lounge about donating some $$ to the different teachers that we have online here to supplement them on their use of aquariums in the classroom as teaching aids. Steve Rogers brought up the question about MAAST contributing matching funds (up to a certain $$ amount) towards this project, I have brought that up to in the directors discussion and will see what the consensus is from the club. The point of this thread is that we are not getting many responses from people and I felt it may be due to the title that was throwing people off (I hope this is the case).

Regardless, I wanted to get this into a new thread with a title that may be more fitting and get more response from the public. Feel free to do what you can or give input into this idea. We can discuss payment method at a later time when we have a better idea where this thing is going.

One last thing so there is no confusion. I am posting this and supporting this as a MAAST member, this does not reflect any agreement to anything on the part of MAAST or the BOD. They will chime in on this topic at the appropriate time. Below is the original post so you can see what the discussion has been so far.

Thanks

I feel like this would be a great program to try again.

BUT THIS TIME...

Instead of focusing on cash donations, I think it would be better to focus on dry goods, i.e. tanks, pumps, salt, etc... and livestock donations. I for one do not want to be in charge of cash.

What do you think? Can we do it?
