Glaciers melting...
A lot of different points of view. Not saying that oil is the sole source of co2 in the system and as mentioned a volcano can duplicate in a few moments what we have taken two centuries to accomplish (unverified, just generalizing). But there's a three pronged response to that, and two are linked.
First, we can't have any influence on geological impacts, nor solar load. In fact about five billion years ago our planet and sol started working out that relationship without our consent or advice.
Second, we are responsible for releasing back into the system the single largest cache of sequestered gasses in a willfull act. Should we stop? Slow down? No. Maybe. Yes. I don't know but it ties into the third point of my trident.
Third, we have got to stop destroying our forests, reefs, marshes, and even our deserts. Those are the tools our big buddy earth uses to "export nutrients" from the system.
I liked the remark about pavement and the heating and retention of that load. I consider it slightly ironic and so I will leave it with this. Ever wonder why the southern hemisphere doesn't suffer the same weather patterns/temperament as the northern hemisphere?
