    Default 75 gallon reefer progress

I set up the tank this past week. 75 gallon reef-ready with 29 gallon wet/dry filter sump, protien skimmer and T5 lighting. Added 40 pounds of live sand from an established tank and 75 pounds of "live sand" from B&B Aquatics. It is Carib Sea argonite live sand sold wet in 25 pound bags. I found a local pet shop in Boerne with 31 pounds of established live rock that had been in his tanks for over 6 months, encrusted with coraline algae, plants and a few small red amenonies. I added another 30 pounds of "fresh" live rock from Gabe's Aquatics (nice shop, check him out). Now I wait for it to cycle. I expect it will cycle fairly fast as I have so much stuff from established tanks to speed it up. I left LOTS of room to add corals and live rock with corals attached for future growth. My biggest problem in the past was I filled the tank with live rock and had no room to add stuff!
Here are my pics, check it out. Established rock on the left with plant growth and new rock on the right. I think the plants will help the nitrogen cycle. I love the plants but, will a clean up crew make short work of it?
