I’m in the middle of my biggest tank build . My new tank came with an IWAKI 1800 pump. Have the tank cycling right now but the pump has been making a god offal screeching sound since I first turned it on this morning. At first thought it just needed to warm up never used and external before. It did quite down considerably but it’s still hard to be in the same room for a long time. It sounds like a constant metal on metal. Anybody have any ideas what is causing and how I can remedy it? When I bought the tank sump and pump it was on and I don’t recall much of anything but a low hum.
