RO/DI,, filter questions
I have what I guess you would call a 5 stage unit..I have always had some trouble with too much pressure and the filter media deleting too quickly.. I am about to buy new filters for it and and want some Expert input on what might be happening.. I have the following,, a 1 micron prefilter( which i want to change to a 5 or 10 micron), a carbon block, then a GAC filter, then the RO then the DI,, I need the extra carbon because I am high in chlorine.
The pressure coming in is anywhere from 65 to 80psi.. generally stays right at 65
..
the following are my questions;
1. should I start with a 5 or 10 micron instead of the 1 micron?, and if I do this do I have to change any of the other filter types to compensate?
2. should I be looking for a 4:1 ratio of waste to product?
3. is 65 psi too much pressure and if so how do i reduce it? (it is not due to clogged filters)
4. New filter recomendations? any deals going on right now that I don't know about?
Thanks
