Default Xenia - Blue Cespitularia - NW Austin

Donating - Blue Cespitularia Xenia, mounted, and at least 1" x 1" in size.

Picture of colony (in higher light, for more blue move lower in tank)

Lucky for me, this xenia grows very well in my tank and I am able to frag it quite often. I currently have 2 mounted frags of the Blue ready to go.

What has worked for me: The blue xenia is in my 28g JBJ. The lighting is a 14k phoenix bulb with two actinics. To obtain the really, really blue color I place the frags at the bottom of the tank. They will grow anywhere but seems to get more pink the higher up they are in the tank. To encourage growth, a moderate flow right over it will speed things along. I do not feed the xenias directly but I feel that they have greatly benefited from live phyto.
