Shimming
Woo Hoo I get to shim my aquarium stand! Not really excited. Now that ive moved my 210g 84x24x24 off carpet in the family room to a hard floor in the kitchen the right side of the tank/stand is now off by 1/4". Front to back is level but not left to right. I did a fill test today and noticed that on my new 42" Calflow the water is flowing into the right side and not the left so I need to shim. I havnt had to do this before, most of my tanks have been on carpets which acted as a leveler. 1/4" isnt much so will ordinary wood shims do the trick? I do not want to do the pink foam under the tank because I do not have trim that would hide it, plus its the floor thats slightly unlevel not the stand. I have to do this with the tank on the stand because its already plumbed and ready to go.
