Hello All,

I've got a 150 Gal, 5X2X2. It has two corner overflows and a 30 gallon wet/dry sump w/ a Custom Sealife Velocity T4 return pump(1200gph).

I decided to go salty a few months ago. Realizing how much more expensive it was...I opted to get things gradually. I think this might have caused some problems though...

First I got 150lbs of sugar grade aragonite sand, filled the tank up *with tap* and bought a 5 gallon bucket of SeaChem sea salt...got the mixture right.

About a month later, I bought 100lbs of Fiji LR and about 80lbs of dried Fiji from Wolf Reef.

I wasn't able to purchase much for about a two month period. I simply have a generic T12 fixture in my canopy so I can see in the tank. In this time, I've had a HUGE algae outbreak. It pretty much is covering half of my sand and just about all of my rocks. I know I've committed multiple offenses to make it so bad...i.e. tap water, low water flow, crappy lighting...but all of this will be corrected soon.

This week I got a skimmer and three Koralia 4 powerheads. I've also got a Phosban reactor in the mail.

Well, I just hooked up the power heads...and my tank looks like it has much much more current in it...which is good I think. I went from having about 600-800 gph from the return pump, to over 4000 gph.

After that long story...My concern is that lots of the algae growth is getting blown off the rocks in sheets. It's really messy. Is this OK? Any advise on correcting my predicament would be great. I'm really just wondering what is going to happen to all of the algae that's currently thriving in the tank...it's got to go somewhere

My next item to purchase is the light set-up...hopefully I can order it next week.
